How long does the season last?

NWRC drill season is essentially all year round. When is comes to actually riding, we ride March or April through September and sometimes into October. We have meetings once a month, a Bootcamp on horseback in February and walk the drill pattern on foot in March.

How often are practices?

Once a week, twice if necessary. 

How often are PERFORMANCES?

Rodeos are at least once a month June - September. We are more than willing to work with vacations and other plans, just please give us sufficient notice.

What does the uniform consist of?

Hat, stampede string, team western shirt, black riding pants, belt, chaps, and western riding boots.

What does my horse need?

Appropriate saddle and bridle in functioning order that fits your horse properly. Silver splint boot covers, and black/silver/pink bell boots. All tack must follow team colors or be of neutral coloring. We will provide a saddle pad cover and flags.

How experienced of a rider must I be?

NWRC welcomes all levels, but regardless of experience we encourage a proper horse/rider combination. We have two levels of partners: performing horse/rider partners and practicing horse/rider partners. A good horse with an inexperienced rider can be just as dangerous as a green horse with an experienced rider. Our main concern is safety. We have riders from all sorts or backgrounds. Anywhere from western pleasure and gaming background to trail riders and people who have just started riding. We are a supportive group to help each and every member develop better skills of horsemanship and become a closer partner with their horse.
